Ocean World Travel is owned by Michele Dance & Alan Godfrey. Alan and Michele met onboard the Festival Cruise ship The Azur in 1994, brought together by their mutual love of cruising. In 1995 a cruise on the Silver Seas Birmingham was discussed and later the same year, Michele left Thomas Cook in London where she had worked for many years, and moved to Birmingham
By April 1996, the relationship was not working well, so with a very clear idea about what customers wanted from a travel agency and a passion for exceptional customer service; Michele applied for an ABTA license and decided to do things her way. In August 1996, Ocean World Travel was born.
Michele’s dedication to exemplary customer service, a superb pricing structure and real expertise in the industry proved to be a winning combination and the business grew rapidly. So rapidly, that it soon became apparent that to meet the needs of the booming cruise agency, Alan would need to leave his successful career in Sales & Marketing at Cadburys and work full time in the company. Soon after, at the turn of the decade, there was also a need to move to larger premises and so the business moved south to Winchester
Today Alan & Michele are still at the helm. The basic foundation of ‘Best Price, Best Service’, upon which the company was built, is still in place today. Ocean World Travel will always give you their best possible price when you book your holiday and couple that with unrivalled customer service.
